Whilst our client base is broad, we have particular experience supporting early- and late-stage technology-based startups in the health and life science sectors. Our grant writing activities primarily target research and innovation funding programmes, such as InnovateUK and Horizon Europe.
Our backstory
Framework Innovation was formally established in 2014 as an innovation and grant writing consultancy for tech startups, building on over a decade of the founder’s experience in the field.
Initially most organisations approached us wanting grant funding. However, upon engagement, we often discovered that many organisations needed elements of innovation consultancy to advance their concepts and business plans to the level required for grant readiness. Frequently, organisations sought to fill these gaps with a ‘quick-fix’ – often resulting in pursuit of the wrong product, leading to significant downstream costs, disruption, and even venture failure.
To address this challenge, we developed the innovation thinking, tools, and techniques that underpin our grant writing processes; enabling us to work efficiently and effectively with organisations to define, critique, and develop their innovation concepts and business plans as part of our grant writing services. This approach not only ensured that the right project was submitted with the best possible chance of success, but also supported broader equity finance readiness and long-term innovation success.
Our proprietary Innovation Framework and Roadmap now form the foundation of our innovation service offerings, spanning full-service innovation management through to discrete innovation (design) sprints.
